John Strasser

John Strasser
Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Strasser has
been part of Southern Arizona's blues scene for
more than 25 years.
He was an original member (along with ABHOF
Steve Grams) of L Mondo Combo, the first Tucson
band to regularly play blues. In the 1980s John
was also an original member of George Hawke's
Los Lasers, Arizona's premier roadhouse band.
And he played many years with Boogieman Blues
Band with ABHOF Tom Walker.
A singer and songwriter, Strasser plays
saxophone, harmonica and slide guitar. He
currently plays with Buzzard Luck. Buzzard Luck,
the 2000 Arizona Blues Showdown runner-up,
recently appeared at the Junebug Festival.
John released a solo EP before coming to Tucson,
and Buzzard Luck's self-produced CD "Good Luck"
is due next month.
