Charly's Pub in Flagstaff

Inducted in 2021

The historic Weatherford Hotel in Flagstaff has been owned and operated by Henry Taylor and Pamela “Sam” Green since 1981.  Charly’s, the hotel’s street-level nightclub, became Northern Arizona’s Home of the Blues in 1983, when future ABHOF members Steve Willis and Tommy Dukes started the Monday Night Blues Jam with John Willis, Charlie Mossman and Dave Duncan.  The jam is still running today.  Other ABHOF members involved have included Hank Tomlin and Bob Blazi.  Charly’s has also been a reliable base for touring musicians such as Jimmy Rogers, James Harman and Philip Walker, as well as Southern ABHOF members Hans Olson, Bob Corritore, John Rapp and many more.  Blues music continues to be featured in regular shows by the Monday Night Blues Band and S.E. Willis’ piano nights.  Venues that regularly feature Blues are becoming rarer all the time—we should support the efforts of owners such as Henry Taylor and Sam Green.
